We are Alyssa & Co. Events and it is very nice to e-meet you!

We think it is about time we make a proper introduction to our social media followers, blog readers and potential event holders. You should definitely learn more about who we are as a company if we would like you to consider us when choosing an event planner! So here are all the 'dirty deets' ..

The Beauty & Brains behind the company:

Alyssa & Co. is an event planning and styling business launched by Alyssa Romualdi in 2016. Alyssa is a Special Event Professional with 10 years of experience in the event and hospitality industry; six of which have been in event coordinating. Her goal is simple - to execute beautiful and unique events that produce a satisfying experience, not only for her clients, but for every guest in attendance at the event. With her having so much experience in the event planning industry, Alyssa knows all the ins and outs. As a young business professional, who has the academic background as well as practical experience, Alyssa has extensive knowledge of the industry.

Giving Back:

In the past, Alyssa and Co. has worked with The SickKids Foundation, The Princess Margret Cancer Foundation, Rainbows for All Children Canada, The Vaughan Food Bank and Ovarian Cancer Canada. With these foundations, we have followed projects from planning through initiation and execution. At Alyssa & Co. Events, we feel that it is important to not only help during your life-changing moments, but to create life-changing moments for others. The inside scoop on Alyssa:

The best way to get to know the person you are working with is to ask them a few questions. Here is some inside info on who Alyssa is and why she does what she does:

1) Describe yourself in three words?

A: Clumsy, witty and focused

2) Where did you study event planning? A: I did a post graduate certificate in Event Management at Humber College Lakeshore Campus, but my degree is in Psychology and English.

3) What made you choose event planning as your career?

A: Since the age of 13 I have always worked in hospitality. I was serving tables and planning events from the young age of 15. At the age of 18, I planned my very first wedding. It still is so surreal that I had the opportunity to do that but I am beyond blessed to have done so because it helped me gain such a great understanding of the industry so early on. Now, years later I feel confident taking on whatever challenge is tossed my way.

So I guess my answer is aside from being in the industry for so long, I have such a passion for it. I always advise anyone I speak to to never settle for something they're just good at but to follow where their heart is; because if you don't have a passion for what you do you will never a) be happy nor b) succeed. It worked for me - I found something I'm equally good at and passionate about!

4) What is your favourite memory from an event you have planned? A: I think my favourite memory would also be synonymous with my most embarrassing one, that's for sure. My clients' wedding was hosted in a tent at their family farm. The majority of their décor was outdoor of course, hung beautifully in the trees etc. Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate creepy crawling things or getting myself dirty, and how absolutely terrified I am of heights.

At this time I was working alone so I took it upon myself to hang all of the tree décor myself (lighting and hand-crafted dream catchers). So picture this, little me climbing the tallest of trees suspending all of this décor, until a flying creepy crawler the size of my palm landed on my nose. I wobbled a bit until I tumbled down my ladder and into the dirt. My 3 most dreaded things all combined in one - heights, creepy bugs, and mud.. and no, in case you're wondering, no one saw this take place! (Thank the Lord!)

5) What is your favourite part about your job?

A: My favourite part about my job is observing and by observing I mean watching my clients on event day interacting with their loved ones. Seeing them happy and being a part of it provides me with a feeling I cannot even put into words. It's a beautiful thing.

6) What is a fun fact about yourself? A: I am obsessed with anything beach-related, I even own my own line of women's swimwear, AylaMor.
